George College of Management and Science is deeply rooted in a legacy of educational excellence that began with the George Telegraph Training Institute, established in 1920. This pioneering institution was founded to combat rising unemployment by providing job-oriented training tailored to industry needs. Over the years, it has successfully trained over 15,000 students across 50 centers in West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Jharkhand.
In 2001, George College was founded as an affiliated institution of the West Bengal University of Technology (now known as MAKAUT), adding a new dimension to our educational heritage. The college expanded its academic offerings in 2003 with the establishment of the George College of Management & Science, located near Taratala, Maheshtala, and Budge Budge Trunk Road in South West Kolkata. Here, we focus on providing full-time Bachelor's degree programs across various professional fields and give a chance to explore an academic research life as well.
Our commitment to academic diversity continued with the launch of the George School of Law in 2012, which offers a 5-year B.A.LL.B. program at its dedicated campus in Konnagar, Hooghly, and is affiliated with the University of Calcutta and recognized by the Bar Council of India.
In 2015, we established the George College (Department of Education), which offers a 2-year B.Ed. program affiliated with the University of Calcutta and a 2-year D.EI.Ed. program recognized by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education and the NCTE.
With a strong emphasis on student success, our heritage is marked by a consistent record of outstanding achievements, underscoring our dedication to shaping the next generation of leaders and professionals.
